How to choose the right viscosity grade in the Motul 300V range among the 12 offered?

Quite simply by referring to the vehicle's maintenance booklet and therefore to the viscosity grade recommended by the manufacturer.

For example: If the recommendation for a VW Golf GTI is VW 504 00 grade 5W-30, then you will have to choose the Motul 300V POWER 5W-30.

If several viscosity grades are allowed, for example: 0W-30 / 0W-40 / 5W-30 / 5W-40, use the lightest viscosity grade if you want to prioritize performance or your vehicle has low mileage, and the most viscous one if you want reliability or if your vehicle has high mileage.

In the case of large engine modifications, for example: non-original oil pump, very high power increase such as addition of a turbocharger (or a second one), significant increase in displacement etc... choose a viscosity grade above the original viscosity grade, in order to favor engine protection and safety. Also, always check your oil level regularly. If it increases, be careful, it certainly means that there is fuel dilution. Immediate oil change will therefore be necessary to avoid any risk of premature engine wear or breakage.
