Motul Racing Lab
Motul Racing Lab is a state-of-the-art mobile laboratory able to analyze the lubricants running in competitors’ engines and has been used at major racing events like the Dakar Rally and 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2020, this free service is offered to all competitors and fans for the first time ever at Motul Petit Le Mans.

What information can the Racing Lab provide?
- Search for metal elements present in the lubricant to detect premature or accelerated engine wear and thus know if it is necessary to carry out the replacement of a part(s).
- Analyse the composition of the lubricant in use to highlight any coolant leaks or fuel dilution that may damage the engine and limit its performance.
How can I get my oil tested at the Racing Lab?
Fans in attendance for this year's Motul Petit Le Mans can stop by the Motul Racing Lab in the Fan Zone to sign up to get their oil tested. The vehicle must be parked in the infield and our technical experts can extract a small sample from your engine oil dipstick. We will be limiting tests to only 20 fans per day, so be sure to sign up early!
