Following his win in the Chamrousse hill climbing race at the end of August, Nicolas Schatz didn't need to wait for the last event of the Hill Climbing Championship to know that he had won the title. It's the 2nd consecutive title for the rider from Saône-et-Loire supported by Motul, but this hasn't prevented him from finishing the season with great brio by also clinching the last two events in Turckheim and Limonest-Mont-Verdun, on 9 and 16 September. He thus has a total of 12 wins for the 13 meets of the season: unshared domination allowing Sébastien Petit, also supported by Motul, to secure 2nd place, and 1st in Protos category.
