MOTUL AND DUTCH CLASSIC CAR ASSOCIATION STRIKE LUBRICANT PARTNERSHIP
01.09.2022
Dutch classic car owners can now benefit from Motul’s heritage in quality lubricants after signing a deal with the largest old-timer organisation in the Netherlands. Motul and the Federation of Historic Automobile and Motorcycle Clubs (FEHAC), which supports 235 clubs in the Netherlands and represents more than 60,000 classic vehicles, have joined forces to create an exclusive strategic partnership.
A transfer of lubricant knowledge and expertise
The official collaboration between FEHAC and Motul is a multi-year agreement that will see Motul transfer lubricant knowledge and expertise to FEHAC members as well as give them access to Motul’s extensive range of specially developed classic motor oils for old-timers. The agreement was announced at the start of the Concours d'Elegance at Soestdijk Palace, Netherlands.
Lubricants for every era of classic car and bike
Motul’s range of lubricants for classic cars extends from before 1950 right through to more modern classics for cars made in the 1980s and 1990s. As well as motor oils, Motul has a wide range of products to keep vintage cars in perfect condition, including grease, brake oils, coolants and car care polishes to bring out the true beauty of vintage cars and bikes.
This collaboration with FEHAC builds on Motul’s expanding international presence in the classic car market. It is already a partner of several old-timer federations, including England and France, and the European FIVA, of which FEHAC is a branch.
Sharing expertise and knowledge
Stefan Hulman, president of FEHAC, said of the exciting partnership: "We are very pleased by this cooperation. FEHAC is a guardian of mobile heritage. Our organisation and the old-timer market are facing several major challenges in the near future. It is very important to have strategic partners on board with professional expertise on the themes we are facing: knowledge development, climate, changing fiscal measures, etc. Motul is such a strategic partner with proven added value for FEHAC and its 60,000 members. In the coming decades, normal technical education will evolve away from older technology. Therefore, FEHAC considers themes such as knowledge preservation, transfer and development in the technical field to be very important to ensure the survival of our mobile heritage.”
A heritage of innovation in lubricants
Erik Drost, area manager, Motul Benelux, added: "Motul and I are extremely enthusiastic about our new partnership with FEHAC. The market knowledge, years of experience and the local extensive network fits Motul and our products well. Motul develops its own products, so there is a lot of expertise about lubricants and their composition. FEHAC is an important and logical partnership for Motul in the Netherlands, it strengthens our leadership position and confirms our expertise in lubricants for old-timers. Besides the transfer of knowledge, FEHAC is also a credible and efficient communication tool for owners of classic vehicles. For example, at the InterClassics in Maastricht, we are planning the FEHAC Academy, where one of our lubricant experts will be organising a master class for mechanics who work on classic vehicles every day.”
