An impressive grid for the new e-Trophée Andros
Calling the grid of the new season of the e-Trophée Andros impressive, is making an understatement. Motorsport legends such as Sébastien Loeb, Nicolas Prost, JB Dubourg and Olivier Panis are taking it up against young guns such as Andreas Bakkerud, Aurélien Panis and Yann Erlacher. For it’s first fully electric outing, the e-Trophée Andros started the season on the ‘Circuit de glace Alain Prost’. near the beautiful slopes of Val Thorens, the highest ski resort in Europe, at a whopping 2500 meters and more. Needless to say this recipe leads to very spectacular races with close door to door action.
Finding the perfect rhythm
All through the weekend, all competitors were evenly matched and while some had to get used to the new fully electric cars, others were struggling with their tire choice. On the first rallyday, legend Sébastien Loeb struggled to get grip with his e-Trophée Andros car. On the final day however, he found the perfect rhythm and sped towards the front of the field. Only to be topped by the talented youngster Aurélien Panis who is doing his second season in the electric Andros car.
A weekend for the history books
Closely following Loeb was Nicolas Prost in the Motul DA racing Renault Zoë. Prost had a bit of a shocking moment prior to the race as is team mate Emmanuel Moinel discovered how hard a snow bank can be and broke two wheels during the process. However, good teamwork by the talented DA Racing mechanics meant the car got fixed in time and their work was rewarded by a podium position.
Needless to say the first e-Trophée Andros event of the season was one for the history books. Crowned by a podium with roaring names such as Prost, Panis and Loeb.
