Aubervilliers, 29 February 2012. Europe’s leading company in the field of motorcycle lubricants and lubrication, Motul, is pleased to announce it has signed an agreement to support the Honda TT Legends team as it prepares for an all-important second year of competition in the FIM Endurance World Championship. Part of Honda Europe’s official factory programme, Honda TT Legends will also be participating at selected road racing events such as the Isle of Man TT.
Motul’s Managing Director, Hervé Amelot, commented on the new association: “We are delighted to reinforce our links with motorcycling through our support of Honda Europe’s endurance programme. The Honda TT Legends team has assembled an excellent rider line-up for 2012 and, in light of our role as official lubricant supplier to the Isle of Man TT, what better line-up is there to be involved with than the fastest man around that course and the 2011 fastest newcomer?”
Using the Motul 300V lubricant specifically developed with Honda for the CBR 1000RR Fireblade, the team will launch its assault on the world’s toughest track and road races with a line-up headed by 17-time Isle of Man TT winner, John McGuinness. Road racing ace, Cameron Donald, will remain with Honda TT Legends for 2012, and will be joined by British Superstock and road racing star, Gary Johnson, and 2011 fastest TT newcomer, Simon Andrews. All four riders will contest the 2012 Endurance World Championship while McGuinness and Andrews will make up a two-man team for the Isle of Man TT and the Northwest 200 – with McGuinness looking to defend his 2011 title and add to Honda’s 160 TT wins.
