LE MANS ’66, THE MOVIE. THE CLASSIC FORD GT40 PARADES THROUGH PARIS

You can’t speak out he words Le Mans without thinking of Motul. That’s how deep the legendary French endurance race and the French oil company are entangled. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the release of the Le Mans ‘66 movie is an important event for Motul. How to draw attention to the movie? Why not drive through Paris in a truck with a classic Ford GT40 in the back of it? That should do the trick! 

The Movie Le Mans ‘66 or (Ford vs. Ferrari as it’s known in the US) is a Hollywood depiction of the events that happened prior and during the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1966. Two years prior, Ford committed stepping up its motorsport game and entered the Ford GT in the legendary 24 hours of Le Mans. The movie picks up the moment Carrol Shelby was asked to step in and continue the development of the Ford GT MKII. Afterwards, the rest is history, as the saying goes…

We might’ve not had Matt Damon or Christian Bale handing out signatures in our truck, but we did have another star in the truck: a beautiful shiny red Ford GT40. In a tour that passed all famous Parisian hallmarks last Wednesday, both tourists and Parisians fell in love with the pretty car shining behind glass on the back of the truck.
